Why KBs?

Kettlebells

Kettlebell (KB) lifting has exploded in popularity. But the practice has deep roots that reach across a number of cultures (Greece, China, Scotland, and most famously, Russia). It’s simultaneously ancient and modern. The future of exercise and movement lies in the past!

Lifting a KB is to learn to move more naturally and efficiently using light weights. They provide a path to strength of movement vs the strength of muscle. Strength of movement is practiced in connection, unity and fluidity; it’s the body and mind working together–fundamentally different than the muscle-focused exercises of conventional exercise. KB lifting combines cardio, strength, flexibility, and movement skill seamlessly like no other practice.

And if you want a complete movement practice, you need to lift things! Our weapon of choice? The kettlebell.

Why Swinging Clubs?

Swinging clubs are a unique practice to keep joints mobile, muscles/tissues supple and strong, and the entire shoulder area out of injury. They help correct posture and teach the body to move in harmony. They use circles, not straight lines! They’re critical for anyone who cares about keeping their body in and on top of it’s game for the long run.

They been staples of martial and meditative workouts for centuries and make for a perfect complement KB lifting. Did we mention they are also a blast? Come find out.

Why bodyweight?

Mastering your own body is the foundation of mastering movement. Bodyweight exercise also allows for an infinite continuum of angles, variations, speeds, and intensities. From the awareness-building and tension-release of tai-chi and restorative yoga, to the armor-building strength of classical gymnastics (think rolls, planks/pushes, hand balances, bridges, squats, lunges, pullups, leg lifts, etc.), to the athletic and conditioning movements like rope and box jumping and crawls. All of this is the complete world of bodyweight. Come learn why the body gets much more with less!

More guidance, less stuff. A better path, different place, awesome people. Let’s go!
