Gymnasium Runs

Gymnasium members learning the POSE technique.

Short runs for fresh air and camaraderie. And only as far as the group is able (usually ~3 miles , depending on weather and who’s with us!). New and returning runners are welcome and encouraged. Even if you don’t know if you can run a mile: you are welcome. We’ll help you get there and back again. Like goals? We also sign up for 5Ks, obstacle courses, and other fun races as a team.

Curious about the hullabaloo around barefoot and minimalist running? Experience what a difference a few simple technique changes can make. And yes, you can keep your shoes on (most of us do!).

Minimalist running is simply running more naturally, with a limited reliance on unnatural shoe technology–whatever level works for an individual’s body. We follow the principles of the POSE method of running and hold POSE clinics with coach Ken Schafer. Ken is the only Level IV POSE Coach in Boston and contributing author on POSE Method publications. Learn more about Ken here.

Learning to adapt natural running principles to your gait can help save your joints from the pavement, become more efficient, and maybe even inspire you to think differently about running.

All levels welcome. So if you want to make running part of your movement diet, get out there with us!
